I have a flicker who hangs on the tree trunk next to the suet feeder and
actively discourages other birds from feeding there. I have had to put
up a second feeder to accommodate the other woodpeckers and
the small birds that nibble at suet.

The flicker lurks on the lee side of the feeder on cold, blustery days like
today.
It will monopolize the feeder this way for hours.
