A little slow to post this, but thought others might be interested in
knowing that the 3 CACKLING GEESE that Gail M., Bob R. & Tom M. reported a
few days ago were still in the horse field with thousands of CANADA GEESE.
This was on Zion Rd. south of its intersection with Gregg Rd. I saw the 3
birds together on Christmas (Sat, 12/25) while going for a drive during a
lull in the eating. They were in the field closest to the road, along with
lots of Canadas, but all the birds were weary and walked away from the road
when I pulled up. I did not get out of my car, as I think this would have
spooked them. There's a pond on this farm, and between trees I was able to
see a male REDHEAD, along with lots of geese, MALLARDS, and RING-NECKED
DUCKS.

Good birding,
