Are there known "Robin Roosts" in Montgomery/Howard/Prince Georges
Counties? The kind of continuous stream of robins that you describe sounds
similar to that which we see over here when the birds are leaving a local
roosting site.
Here in Talbot County there is a fascinating Robin Roost on route 50
beside the Holiday Inn Express grounds. This spot is very active from late
August until the first week in November. Numbers of birds counted just
before sun rise as they are leaving the roost gets as high as 30,000 in late
October. That roost is practically abandoned for the remaining parts of the
year, so I do not know where our Talbot County robins congregate at this
time of year.

Not that I am aware of, but evidently they were streaming from some nearby
roost. Would love to find it, as there may be some other hidden "good" bird(s)
among them (it was in such a flock that the Western Tanager was seen on the
Triadelphia CBC a few years back.)
