MD Osprey:

While counting today (1/2/2005) on the Annapolis CBC, we spotted an adult
Golden Eagle. The location was near where Rutland Road passes under US Rt
50, at Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County. MD. The bird was spotted around
12:25 pm. It was kettling up and then took off toward the east, following
Rt 50, heading toward Prince George's County and the direction of Bowie.

We had a good look at the bird. At first it confused us, pretending to be a
Turkey Vulture, then we tried to morph it into a Black Vulture, but nothing
looked quite right. Then we realized it was an eagle, but not a Bald Ealge,
with its tiny head and different proportions. It was a full adult, showing
no white anywhere.

Keep your eyes pealed. At the tally-up, Dave Mozurkewich predicted that it
might head toward the Brown Station Landfill at Upper Marlboro ... who
knows ...

Good luck.

Phil
