Lisa and I did some "speed birding" at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental
Center, formerly known as Horsehead Wetland Center, in Grasonville, QA
County, on Saturday, 1/15 from 4:20-5 pm.

Top bird was a BLUE-WINGED TEAL, well north of its usual range, on the
central lake.

	Also spotted:

	American Wigeon, 15-20
	Northern Pintail, 6-8
	Canvasback
	Ruddy Duck, 1 Female
	Great Blue Heron
	Bald Eagle, fly by
Northern Harrier, 1 male, 1 female, to left of gravel road approaching the
Center.

At Schoolhouse Pond, PG County, on the cold morning of 1/17/05, I had a
pair of Bald Eagles (1 adult, 1 immature) circling overhead; Ruby-Crowned
Kinglet cooperatively flashing its ruby crown; and 3 Gadwall. Rest was the
usual.

We're at 56 species on our quest for 200 in 2005. Good birding!
