The 7th Annual C&O Canal Midwinter Bird Survey will take place on Saturday, 
January 22, 2005.   Participants are assigned mile posts and complete a 
data sheet for each mile.
  In the previous 6 counts,  a total 112 species have been tallied and the 
yearly average is in the high 80s.  Details and a view of this data can be

We are approaching coverage for the entire 184 + miles, but we could still 
use some experienced birders, particularly for Washington County.  Most
