Seneca Creek State Park between Rt. 118 and Riffleford Rd. - Overall
number of birds low but some nice Winter birds including RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCH (first non-feeder sighting for me in Mo. Cty), Hermit Thrush,
Winter Wren, Brown Creeper, and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

Also stopped at Rt. 121 bridge for a quick scan of Little Seneca
Lake. Nothing that hasn't been reported over the past month or so. Did
see one of the EARED GREBES. Other birds included:

Pied-billed Grebe
Canada Goose
Mallard
American Black Duck
Ring-necked Duck
Canvasback
Common Goldeneye
Bufflehead
Common Merganser
Hooded Merganser
Ruddy Duck
Red-shouldered Hawk
Ring-billed Gull
American Herring Gull
American Coot
Northern Mockingbird
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Northern Cardinal
Field Sparrow
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Dark-eyed Junco

Good birding,
