I paid a visit to Beulah and Salisbury landfills yesterday. Got to Beulah just as the gulls were beginning to arrive, c.8:15. A creamy-colored 1W ICELAND GULL was the highlight. I saw a dark ICELAND/THAYERS adult in flight twice early on, but it never settled for a good look. Also there were 7 Lesser Black-backs (3x 1W, 2x 2W, 2 adults), and an oddly pale 1st year Herring. At the time the gulls were first arriving several skeins of Snow Goose flew over, including one very small bird that was probably a Ross's - though could have been a Snow/Ross's hybrid.
I then went on to Salisbury and saw a 1W GLAUCOUS that is presumably the one that's been there for a while. Also there were 5 Lesser Black-backs (3 adults, 1X1W and 1x3W).
I made a quick trip to Ocean City and had a Razorbill in at close range but in the short time I was there could not locate the eiders though there were many duck (mostly scoter, some oldsquaw) roosting in the inlet.
Returning I couldn't resist popping into Beulah again. No white-winged gulls but a fourth different 1W Lesser Black-back (oddly long-legged) and a small flock of White-crowned Sparrow at the entrance.
