Yesterday we went looking for open water and finally found some at Blackwater Point, Tilghman Island (Talbot County) around dusk. The water is frozen about 10 ft out but then open and the ducks were right at the edge for a great view.

Red-breasted Merganser - 1
Buffleheads - Many
Common Goldeneye -2
Oldsquaw (Longtailed)- 12
Scurf Scoter - 2
Ruddy - 11
Also heard a Great Horned Owl

At the Knapps Narrows:
Great Blue
Ruddy - 6
Greater Scaups - 2

And of course we saw many, many flocks of Canada Geese in farm fields.

We had 2 additions to our normal crew at the feeders - Carolina Wren and Fox Sparrow.
The Fox Sparrow actually hit the window and we put him in a box to recover for 15 minutes or so. (We have 2 cats and he would have been easy prey.) Needless to say we got a great look at him.

We have a Junco that has learned to eat out of the suet feeder. Has anyone else seen Juncos do this?
