Thursday I swung up past Fort McHenry loking for Bob Ringler's scoters.
Having stuck out on ALL the other scoters Bob has turned up earlier in the
season, I was finally able to lift the curse. After an hour of scanning the
flocks I finally found all three species. I also had a first year Great
Cormorant in the main shipping cannel that heads toward the downtown area.
It was feeding in the company of Double-crested Cormorants. No Redheads or
Red-necked Grebe, but a was pleased to see a lone flock of 19 Horned Grebes,
there was also another three in the duck flock.
