On the afternoon of Feb. 2nd I took a trip up to Frederick County. At the
landfill I found a first winter Iceland Gull. Kathy Brown arrived shortly
after, a life bird for her. I found another first winter gull I passed for
being a darker Iceland. I digiscoped both bird, an was quickly distracted
by a first winter Glaucous Gull. Another life bird for Kathy. I took a few
pictures. There was also a first winter Greater Black-backed Gull.

After Jim Stasz's report of a Thayer's Gull, forwarded a picture of my
darker bird, which he confirmed was the bird he had seen on Saturday. Never
hurts to snap a few pictures.

Further south near the intersection of Oland Road and Rt. 85 there was a
Lapland Longspur in a plowed field with Horned Larks.

On route 28 between Greenfield Rd and Park Mills Road the was a lone Raven
feeding on a deer carcass.
