The Ripley Garden Rufous Hummingbird was near the feeder
this morning before 10:00 AM.  The feeder is in the Mary Ripley
Garden of the Smithsonian Institution, between the Arts and
Industries Building and the Hirshhorn Museum on the Mall.
   As always, this bird is quite wary and visits the feeder
briefly.  When the weather  was cold, you could depend on
the bird visiting the feeder at 20-minute intervals.  Now
that the weather is warmer, the bird seems to be able to go
up to 45 minutes between feedings.
   Be patient!
