I didn't see any posts about this bird yesterday. 
Lisa and I spent an hour or two driving around east of
Thurmont and north and west of Creagerstown yesterday
mid-day, as well as standing along Blacks Mill Road. 
We didn't see the lapwing but did see at least 20
hopeful people at two spots.  At Graceham Road, four
of the people present were a considerable distance off
the road; two were way out in a field looking through
(a) telescope(s) and one or two were walking along
along somebody's driveway.  I do not know who any of
these people were, and I wonder if they had permission
to leave the road.  I hope these off-roaders do not
change local opinion of birdwatchers, whom I
understand have been friendly so far.
