HI all,

Upcoming Baltimore Bird Club trip:

MAR 26 (Sat) 7:30 a.m. ALL-DAY SEA WATCH AT OCEAN CITY
INLET. Join us in the inlet parking lot for full day
watch for Gannets galore and other seabirds headed
north past the inlet. Expect to see Brants, Scoters
and a variety of Gulls. There is a good chance of
seeing pelagic birds close to shore. A Red Phalarope
was seen at SeaWatch March 27, 2004 along with 5000
other seabirds. Leader will provide snacks. DRESS
WARMLY, cold wind can be BRUTAL. Bring lawn chair,
spotting scope, warm drinks. Bring lunch or buy it at
local nearby shops (WaWa have everything you need for
breakfast and lunch). Stay over Friday night for early
start on the all day seawatch. Dinner/Tally to follow
at local restaurant. Optional stay over Saturday night
for birding the Inlet, then birding stops on way home
Sunday. Contact leader for motel reservations, meeting
place, additional information.

I spoke with staffs at Francis Scott Key Motel
about holding several rooms. I will ask them again
about using code word: "SeaWatch"
The building we will be staying called Virginia House
and Pennsylvania House. Great rooms, very clean and
good price. There also a smaller room for lower price
at second and third floor at main office. Rooms ok.

Two choices:
1 - Stay over Friday night for early start Sat if
desired. Dinner/Tally to follow at local restaurant.
Optional stay over Sat night for short birding inlet,
then stops on way home.

2 - Stay over Saturday evening for early start Sun,
then return home afterward.

The seawatch will run from 730am to 430pm. You're
welcome to come and go. We plans to have cell phones
handy in case of rarity in area.

If you like to make a reservation, go online to get a
5% discount and/or a group discount at
www.fskmotel.com
Some birders wondering if weather get bad and already
got reservations. No worries, the staff will give us
72 hours cancellation policy before arrival in case of
bad weather. Check with me if the trip is on, at
least 4 days before arrival.

Let me know what your plans and need any info about
this trip. Hope to see you there.
