I've been trying to remember the last time I saw or heard one in my
neighborhood. I think probably November. It's unfortunately one of those
birds that I took for granted even though I noticed that the past couple of
summers they haven't been around in large gangs, chasing squirrels and
generally raising heck the way they used to.

When I noticed their absence I wrote an ode that I'll get on my web site
someday. Certainly will make a note of it when one shows up.

Hi--is anyone else noticing a weird absence of blue jays at their feeder?
Normally I would have a small flock of them alternating with the smaller
birds, but this year I can't recall having a single jay stop by to eat.
Very strange.

Do cardinals chase blue jays? I have many more cardinals than ever before.
