Hi--is anyone else noticing a weird absence of blue jays at their feeder?

Do cardinals chase blue jays? I have many more cardinals than ever before.

I pretty commonly have 3 to 4 Jays at a time when I'm home to notice, but
Cardinal numbers can be upwards of a dozen or more at a time. I believe
Jays would prevail in any competition, although I did have a Cardinal chomp
down on a finger once many years ago - not an experience I would want to
repeat :(

I find more noteworthy the absence of Chickadees at my feeders, but that may
have to do with the removal of a white pine 18 months ago that I think they
found useful as cover in between flights to the feeder.

I had a pair of W-B nuthatches at the feeder yesterday. They are always a
pleasure to see and a pair was a nice bonus...
