Frank --

I have been birding Montgomery County (MC) for just over 3 years now. All
four species (Baltimore & Orchard Oriole) can be found in MC in the right
habitat/during the right season/at the right time of day. I have seen
Woodcocks display in a farm field at dusk along River Road opposite Hughes
Hollow (Mckee Beshers WMA) and along the Blue Mash Nature Trail (per Rick
Sussman's post last week, Woodcocks are displaying there now). Red-headed
Woodpeckers can usually be found among the dead snags at Hughes Hollow.
Baltimore & Orchard Orioles are fairly common throughout MC. The MC
Agricultural History Park on Muncaster Road is reliable for both.

Those three species have eluded me for a long time , I have been birding in
Montgomery County for 3 years now have have not seen any of these species.
Are they rare in and around Montgomery County? Is March a bad time of the
year for the Red-headed? I read posts here about the Woodcocks displaying
but have no idea about their habitats. Advices will be apreciated!!
