If you haven't link up yet with the Montgomery County Bird Club, a chapter 
of the Maryland Ornithological Society (MOS), I'd highly recommend it. They 
sponsor local field trips and that's a great way to learn from other 
experienced birders and they can also help guide to you to those more 
elusive species.
