Made a quick spin around Hains Pt. (lots of standing water on the Golf
Course) this morning and afternoon, and saw the following of note:

1 HORNED GREBE - molting
c.100 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS - there are constant strings of these birds
heading north. This afternoon they were doing this odd flight where they'd
be flying steady, then rise up en masse, flap as if they're not sure they
should continue north, make a bee-line for the Tidal Basin, or turn around,
and then they'd continue on.
2 SNOW GEESE - the adult and imm. birds continue (also saw them on Monday).
This morning they were on the water at the tip of Ft. McNair, this afternoon
they were on the Golf Course
1 GREEN-WINGED TEAL - on the Golf Course
2 AM. BLACK DUCKS - on the Golf Course
c.200 LESSER SCAUP - mostly on the river, with a few on the Channel. Most
were too far out on the river to scrutinize, but then a lot of them took off
and I was able to see a few GREATERS with them
11 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS

1 PEREGRINE - on the wires along the RR bridge. I assume its mate is
around, but I haven't seen 2 together for a few weeks now.

Good birding,
