Excellent weather at lunch today!

The large pond here at JPPM had 5 Green-winged Teal, 4 Gadwall, 4 Wood Ducks, one Great Blue Heron and a Beaver. Lots of Song Sparrows and Chipping Sparrows singing, Field Sparrows, and a couple of Savannah Sparrows too.

A few butterflies out. One Spring Azure and, I believe, Cloudless Sulfurs.

In the Pax River, there were still about a thousand Ruddy Ducks with dozens of Buffleheads. Lots of Horned Grebes, some almost in full breeding plumage. Ospreys are occupying all of their traditional sites.

The woods were silent, tho. I was hoping for a Lousisiana Waterthrush since they've been reported or even a Yellow-throated Warbler but neither were to be seen nor heard. Just Pine Warblers. Soon!
