Solitary Sandpiper at Oak Grove

Hello All,
    This afternoon's check of area puddles found the largest group of
shorebirds in the flooded field at the back of my farm.  It included 66
Greater Yellows, 28 Lesser Yellows, 3 Pectoral Sands and 2 Solitary
Sands.  The Solitarys are new for the year and seem to be at least a week
early.  Also present were 5 Wood Duck.
    At the house were the first regular arrival of Chipping Sparrow and a
Meadowlark singing from atop a pine tree.  I am hoping the Meadowlark set
up residence in an acre that I have quit mowing.
