As the subject line would indicate, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER has arrived
(hopefully to breed) in Knoxville, MD at the west edge of the S.Mtn State
Park @ Weverton Bluffs area. Spotted it at the edge of a fallow field /
forest edge and stream. Threw me for a loop - it was only giving the single
sweeert-like call and I ignored it a first thinking chickadee, also there,
but then realized I'd better check...laziness doesn't carry big rewards.
Newly singing the past week are FIELD SPARROWS and E.TOWHEES.

WT Sparrows and Junco's are still holding on and the usual mix of residents
still here. Am Tree Sparrows seem to have packed it up for the north...none
sighted in a week.
