Looking for signs of spring migration, I birded at Morgan Run
last night and this morning.

Last night, at Morgan Run Natural Environment Area (North), at
the south end of Jim Bowers Road (south of Nicodemus Rd), I heard
a Louisiana Waterthrush moving up and down Joe Branch, calling
and singing at dusk - seems to have staked out a territory.

A Barred Owl gave about 5 hoo-aww calls, then started the normal
full "who cooks for you, who cooks for you-all" song for about 15
minutes, with a more distant BAOW answering the same way each
time.

Lots of White-throated Sparrows were calling, and a zillion frogs
made it hard to hear anything else.

This morning, at Morgan Run NEA (South), at the north end of Ben
Rose Lane and north to the Run, 32 species were seen/heard from
0915 to 1245, including:

Killdeer 1 calling
Barred Owl 1 singing at 1030AM
Cooper's Hawks, one diving at another
Brown Thrasher 2 singing
Palm Warbler 1
Louisiana Waterthrush 1
Blue Grosbeak 1 male (early?)
Chipping Sparrow 2 singing
Field Sparrows 20 singing
