Common Teal , Gannets, Loons In Q.A. County Fri and Sat

   Greetings All shaping up to be a great birding weekend so far But have 
not had a lot of time to spend so far . On Fri  April 8 , 05  leaving work I 
made a quick stop at wye Island.4:15 to 4:55  PM. where the road changes to 
dirt keep on till the very sharp bend. On the right is an outhouse in the 
edge of the woods and some limited parking  there is a pile of soil in front 
of a spilt rail fence behind this is a New manmade impoundment with some 
water due to the winter and recent rain. In it was a flock of Green winged 
Teal, Blue Winged Teal and among them was  a drake Common  Teal . birds here

         This Morning Between   a landfill stop and yard work. decided  to 
check the birds at  Kent Narrows not much of note there. most birds were way 
out.

          Next  stop was viewing Prospect Bay and  Eastern Bay from  behind 
the Prospect  Bay golf
course  at the boat landing  in the devolpement  10:30 Am to 11:30 Am see

Red Throated Loon  5    off of Parsons Island
Horned Grebes  5
Surf Scoter 100 + or -
Black Scoter 4
Bufflehead   6
Lesser  Scaup   3
Mute swan    2      one sitting on nest at the entrance to the golf course 
and development
Northern Gannet   at least 4     soaring and diving for prey. A county bird 
for me

Birds  seen in yard while   cleanning up some of the winter mess

White Throated Sparrow 12
Carolina Chickadees 2  at feeder 1 seen checking bird boxes for a possible 
nest site
Pileated woodpecker  2
Red Bellied woodpecker 2

White Breasted Nuthatch 1
Tufted Titmouse 2
