I had a single Osprey flying over the Soapstone Valley of Rock Creek Park this morning.
Barn Swallow working over the creek at Porter Dr. & Beach Dr.
One Ruby Crowned Kinglet in the Soapstone Valley looking very worn.

No Waterthrushes yet along Broad Branch tributary

Of other interest - near the park on private property I saw a Pileated Woodpecker repeatedly fight off several Northern Flickers in a nest hole. I'm not sure which species had that hole first, but by the looks of it, it was now big enough for the Pileated as both the Pileated and Flicker were inside the cavity at the time I saw them both emerge. The Pileated continued to excavate between nest takeover attempts.

One new Barred Owl located in the southern end of the park last night
