Ed Boyd asked me to forward the following message about kestrels nesting at
the control tower at BWI Airport.

Subject: BWI Tower Kestrels

> The Kestrels have been back at the tower for the last week. Two birds have
been circling the tower and displaying courtship behavior since early last
week. They appear to be coming and going from the southeast corner of the
tower. Two years ago they used an opening in the northeast corner and
fledged young. Last year the Starlings won the war and the Kestrels left the
tower after just a couple of days. This year they appear to be holding their
own and the female was observed leaving the tower at dawn this morning.
Perhaps they'll be successful again this year.
