I spent about 4 hours at Lake Roland this afternoon/evening and was
rewarded with some good birds.

The Sora was found in the Wood Duck pond at the north-central area of the
park and was seen in the phrags from the view of the high burm overlooking
the concrete structure. I was scanning for Woodies and/or Teal and saw its
head and then its body contrasting against the plants. Just plain lucky.

Also:

Displaying Bluebirds and courting WB Nuthatches near the railroad bridge
Palm Warblers (4-6) just off of the mudflat area with a GC Kinglet
Yellow-rumped Warblers near the falls
Wood Ducks north and west of the mudflat area and along the waterway
