Our (DNR's) waterfowl biologist has sent me an email (along with nice
photos) of a Trumpeter Swan at a private pond in Forest Hill, Harford
County.  

 

Remembering the previous discussions on MDOsprey related to swan
identification, you might ask how we could be certain of the identification?

 

In this case, it certainly helps that the bird bears two very large yellow
wing tags with the number "705" on them!!!  Our waterfowl biologist has
determined this is a bird from the experimental flock in Ontario.
