The hummingbird that Jane saw yesterday at our feeder had been feeding
on the back side of the feeder when she saw it, and it flew away without
giving her a chance to get a sex on it. After I got home from work, he
showed up again and fed until dusk, off and on. Oddly, at one point,
something else whizzed by the feeder and the male hummer gave chase. It
went by so quickly that we could only surmise that it was a second
hummer.

This morning, he came back several times. I'm sure he was happy to have
some instant gratification as our thermometer was reading 36F.
