I wanted to post Mark Garland's talk at Oregon Ridge Nature Center, in
Cockeysville, MD., on Monday, April 18th at 7:30 PM. Mark's topic will be:
"Searching for Birds (and the meaning of Life) in the Western United States"
Mark looks back at his travels around the West in his early years as a
naturalist, as well as more recent trips to natural places both famous and
obscure.
Mark is senior naturalist at Cape May Bird Observatory. He was senior naturalist
for Audubon Naturalist Society and has led many nature tours for the
Smithsonian. He led his 20th trip to Costa Rico in March 2005. He is the author
of the acclaimed 1997 book," Watching Nature: A Mid-Atlantic Natural History"
and he can be heard on the public radio program "Metro Connection" broadcast
from WAMU in Washington, D.C. where he has been the nature editor for the past
ten years.
The talk is free to the public.
