Hi all the Talbot County Bird Club walk at the Jean Ellen duPont
Shehan Audubon Sanctuary near Bozman had a nice showing of eager birders
dispite a chilly start to Sun Morning . Our leader for the outing was Jan
Reese . We were joined by a new staff member [ Sorry I forgot her name ] she
has only been here since Feb and is impressed by the number of waterfowl
we have in the winter. We ended the day with 62 Species and a nice brunch at
Linda and Paul Makosky's home. some of the Bird highlights were.
Cattle Egret The first of the year for most of us in a cattle lot
on the
Main road . It was in a tree next to a house.
Canada Geese 2
Bufflehead
Ruddy Ducks
Killdeer 1 in a wet spot near Rt 33
Common Snipe 7 seen only in flight . Even when we knew were
they landed they were
Out of sight in the grass.
Greater Yellow Leggs 3 Flyovers
Bald Eagle 1 immature
Red Tailed Hawk 3
Coopers Hawk 1
kestrel 1
Turkey a good sized flock, too bad I did not get to see them
Flickers 5 3 in one tree
Red Bellied Woodpecker 1
Carolina Chickadee
Brown Headed Nuthatch 3
Carolina Wren
Brown Thrasher 4 First of the year for some of the group
Mockingbird a good mimic
Pine Warbler
Yellow Rumped warbler
Yellow Throated warbler 1 singing Last bird of the walk
Song Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
Towhee 2

Tree Swallow 2
Eastern Bluebird several but 1 in a blooming tree
Barn Swallow 4
