Hi all,
I birded with a friend at Blue Mash on Sunday thinking it would be better
than Saturday (a bit cold and windy). It was pretty quiet but we did manage a
few good finds, including 3 Broad-winged Hawks (new for my list) flying over,
3 flocks of DC Cormorants (2 each with about 30 birds apiece), a single
Rough-winged Swallow (new for my list), and a single fly-by PEREGRINE FALCON,
seen flying over us and then over the park towards the landfill, circling once
before it flew off heading NW. This was about 11 AM or so, as we got back early
to the parking lot and were standing there talking when it flew over. It
sometimes pays to linger around! A few Palm Warblers, Swamp Sparrow, Brown
Thrashers, lots of towhees, etc.

3 new species for my BMNT list, bringing it to 145 or there abouts!
