While on our MOS Bird Pedal Saturday, April 16, we spotted a gorgeous male Scarlet Tanager in the open in good sunlight. One of the birders (Phillip Webre, who found the bird) noted via an e-mail message this morning that this was unusually early, and should be reported to MDO. I thought the route for our trip was entirely in Virginia and, heeding Norm's strictures, declined to mention it.

But then I remembered that the MD, VA, and DC jurisdictions converge somewhere in the area where we saw the Tanager, in a tree next to the Jones Point Lighthouse. A search of my .jpg records turned up a map from the Maryland fishing rules that I had squirreled away. Jones Point is in Maryland, just barely, but definitely in the state.

If anyone would like a copy of the map (72 kbytes) let me know off-line.
