I've been observing a small pond near Burkittsville (FRED CO), MD this
spring. Location is on Catholic Church Rd south of the intersection with
Gapland Rd. I don't have Delorme, but Mapquest can locate that intersection
with zip 21755.

Nothing to report from the farm pond today...

However, i can report my first sighting of 4 C-Swifts in the eve sky above
the house - WELCOME BACK...!!! Chimney was cleaned last weekend - so all is
in readiness for a new nesting season. The chimney sweep warned of dire
consequences from bird droppings in chimney from nesting swifts, but i'm not
buying it and am looking forward to being a foster parent for at least the
3rd year in a row.

Also in the sky were my first Broad Wing Hawks. Could only look away from
siding job for a minute - wished i could spend a few hours up at WASH MON
hawk watching site, but it's probably not gonna happen...
