Good diversity and plenty of birds in the park this morning, though nothing really unusual.
First-time spring sightings for the park were a (Yellow) PALM WARBLER and 2 B-G GNATCATCHERS. Also had the largest numbers yet of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (7) and RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET (5). Today was the first time I've heard the yellow-rumps singing; the kinglets were also singing away.
Some winter holdovers moving through provided nice sparrow diversity: 5 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS (first I've seen here this spring) and 5 D-E JUNCOS, to go with the usual Song and Chipping.
16 BLUE JAYS passed through; until today I've had next to none here. Also had flyovers by a CHIMNEY SWIFT and a BARN SWALLOW.
The earlier part of this week had little worth reporting at the time, but I had 2 more flyover COMMON LOONS on 4/18 (there, now I've destroyed any semblance of taxonomic order in this post!).
