Folks

Blue-headed and Red-eyed Vireos were singing early for my deck year list, and lots of Myrtle Yellow-rumped Warblers are moving past. I saw what might be my last Dark-eyed Junco yesterday (ph).

Other yard birds of note was an adult Red-headed Woodpecker (ph) came to the platform feeder near the dining room window. Such a beautiful bird. With Flicker, Downy, Hairy, and Red-bellied, five of the local woodpeckers visited the yard yesterday. The Red-headed was back early. Maybe it will nest close. That would be cool!

An adult Red-shouldered Hawk was perched on one of the feeders when I came back from Waldorf.

The Texas trip was productive with over 100 species photographed but it's time to start Maryland birding again.

Regards

George
