Hi --

Barry and I went to Rock Creek Park DC for the first time this year, and had
a great start to the season, although numbers are still low, diversity was
unexpectedly good. We had 11 species of warbler and another birder heard a
12th species.

Migrants included:

Warblers: Black-and-white (4), Blue-winged (2), CERULEAN (1 singing male
near Nature Center), Chestnut-sided (1), HOODED (1 beautiful singing male in
Maintenance Yard), Myrtle (~35), Ovenbird (4-5), Parula (1), Palm (2
yellow), Redstart (1), Yellow (1 singing male), also Louisiana Waterthrush
heard singing down by Broad Branch.

Other: Blue-headed Vireo (3-4), Red-eyed Vireo (1), Great Crested Flycatcher
(5), Eastern Kingbird (1), Chipping Sparrow (15), Field Sparrow (1), Catbird
(2-3, first of year for us!), Brown Thrasher (1), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (4,
brilliant close views of two males), BG Gnatcatcher (12), Ruby-throated
Hummingbird (1). Also, several large parties of Blue Jays flying north in
early morning.
