As Rob Hilton mentioned, I led an ANS-sponsored trip to Battery Kemble Park
in DC this (Saturday) morning. The 9 of us enjoyed a beautiful morning with
a decent showing of birds. We saw and heard about 52 species, with the
following highlights: 9 species of warblers, including a very cooperative
Black & White, 5 species of woodpeckers, 3 species of vireos, including a
White-eyed that sang for us from c.10 feet away, and a nice look at Great
Crested Flycatcher. Other birds of note included a Rose-breasted Grosbeak,
Baltimore Oriole, and a Double-crested Cormorant that seemed a little
farther east than it should have been.

Good birding,
