During a brief stop at Rockburn Branch Park (Howard County), I flushed a
striking adult WCSP from the cinder path behind the tennis courts. It perched
nicely for a good look.
There was little warbler activity -- it was mid day -- but near the
footbridge over the stream there were two BTB's, and one HOODED and one KENTUCKY
singing as if on territory. Numerous White-eyed Vireos and Wood Thrushes were
singing, and one Veery called and was briefly seen.
On Saturday evening I had a remarkable new yard bird, at least, remarkable
for my yard. A Baltimore Oriole was whistling around the neighborhood and
actually perched briefly in my wispy young red oak. Not one that I expected.
