Folks

While hoping to lure a Great-crested Flycatcher from the woods for a photo I heard a Raven this morning. If it sounds like a Ralph, looks like a Ralph, is it a Ralph? Ralph had lost some feathers since I last saw him on April 6. A large surprise for a mid-May morning in the coastal plane. Got pictures so no write-up for Phil necessary. Maybe we should take this species off the write-up species list for Charles Co.

Other birds of note so far today were:

2 American Redstarts
Purple Martin
female Baltimore Oriole
Summer Tanager - singing east of the house.

Sunday night (~8:30 PM) my first Northern Rough-winged Swallow paid a brief visit - fly over.
