Hello All,
There has been a few birds come into the area, with one total surprise, since the big rain on 5/20.

5/23 - Kinder Rd at sharp bend (MD) - 1 Solitary and 1 Least Sand, 1 hen turkey
       - at the house (DE) - a flyover Bald Eagle
5/24 - Oak Grove Rd at the Vesper Sp spot (MD) - a beautiful drake Shoveler lounging on the edge of the puddle. This bird was totally unexpected, especially this time of year, and is new to my home list (#185 I think). Even in years where I have gotten numbers of puddle duck around March 1st, I never had a Shoveler. Locally, it is a tough bird even in winter as it is often missed on the Seaford CBC. Also, a Cedar Waxwing flyover, an overdue first of year bird.
5/25 - The Shoveler was still present.
       - flyover Green Heron at the house. Another first of year, bringing the 2005 total to 124.
       - puddle at the northwest end of Neals School Rd (DE) had 9 Dunlin and 2 Semi Plover.

Good Birding,
Glen Lovelace III
