Reply To: List vs. Poster, I favor reply to-poster, which I do frequently
because it seems to me that it is individual and perhaps not information that
everyone needs {as a subscriber email management is important}, If it is
information of general interest, I post to MDOsprey {in effect, All}. Political,
Religious; I agree 100%; also, some of the personal attacks I've seen are
disheartening -- Birding is a pleasant experience, post should be civil and
pleasant and enhance learning. I believe you have been too tolerant -- If I were
running it I would have cut it/them off sooner and longer! I've responded
privately to the poster a number of times when I believe the rules are being
violated. Out-of state post -- If it is close by and of more than casual
interest, I believe it should be allowed {I did post the Short-eared Owl invasion {~
35 at one location} 6 miles into PA from Frederick County, MD.
Pictures/attachments: We camera bugs love to share -- I do have a list of people I share
with, and thanks to Fran, photos are posted to the MOS website {Gallery 2005}.
With more and more birders armed with digital cameras, I believe that
interest in posting will grow -- The best way to handle it, I'm not sure. Last but
not least at all -- A great big THANK YOU TO NORM AND FRAN for all of the work
you do for the birding community!
