A few hours of birding in Kinder Farm Park on Thursday yielded 45 species including:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (first of the year in Kinder)
Chimney Swift (we saw 3 on 10 May and 3 again yesterday)
Willow Flycatcher (first in Kinder for us and singing his heart out)
White-eyed Vireo (they arrived in large numbers throughout Kinder)
Eastern Bluebird (always present in Kinder throughout the year)
Common Yellowthroat
Yellow-breasted Chat
Magnolia Warbler
Chipping and Field Sparrows in abundance
Blue Grosbeak (female)
Indigo Buntings (seemed like one singing at the top of every tree)
Baltimore Oriole
on the negative side - we are not seeing Blue-gray Gnatcatchers this year. we had a few earlier in May but are not hearing them or seeing them now and they have usually been nest building in close proximity to trail.
