A lunchtime walk around Constitution Gardens and the FDR Memorial
convinced me that the Memorial was the place to be, at least if you
are an icterid.
Baltimore Orioles were sing in the trees immediately north and south
of the Memorial.
Orchard Orioles were feeding young (at least two nests) in the small
trees at the north end of the field between the Memorial and the
Potomac.
Male Red-winged Blackbirds were calling from this same area.
Common Grackle families were flying around too.
Two Ospreys were soaring over the polo fields north of the Memorial,
and one was mobbed by two crows.

An Osprey was on the train bridge nest, feeding something to
someone.

Red-winged Blackbirds are numerous and calling around the pond
in Constitution Gardens. I have not seen them there in years past,
except during migration. Maybe they have decided to stay. I saw
now females and no young.
