Hi Folks!

I figured a hot day was a good time for a pleasant cruise across the Bay to
Smith I. The cruise boat left Pt. Lookout at 10 and arrived at 12:30 in Ewell.
I had until 2 PM to bird until the return trip. The highlights were
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron (8), Black-cornwed Night-Heron (4), Glossy Ibis (6),
Tricolored Heron (1), Little Blue Heron (3), Green Heron (3), Great Egret (4),
Snowy Egret (4), Great Blue Heron (12), Clapper Rail (3 heard), Eastern Willet
(6), American Oystarcatcher (2) and Seaside Sparrow (4). For the Atlas, it
appears that Rock Pigoens have taken up residence in an abandoned house across the
street from the fire station. Nothing of note, except a few Born Pelicans
on either of the trips across the Bay.

Twp Dickcissels remain on Longneck Road, St. Mary's Co., about 1/4 mi. east
of Rt. 7.

Good Birding!

Jim
