After more than 12 months of restricted access, CROMWELL VALLEY PARK (CVP) will reopen on
Friday,July 1st, 2005. Birders will pleased to see the stream restoration project, which included the
planting of over 1,000 saplings of various trees and shrubs. The growth of these plantings over
the next few years should be of interest as to how it affects both migratory and breeding birds.
Cromwell Valley Park has had one of the best tallies in Baltimore County for the BREEDING BIRD
ATLAS PROJECT, and we expect the stream restoration to improve our final tally. In addition, we
hope to expand our AUTUMN HAWK WATCH this year to include a new hawk ID kiosk and begin
plans for a possible viewing platform! Very exciting times to be a bird watcher at CVP!!!
