Hello all.

I took a short break from atlasing to check out Ft. Carroll today. I viewed
the island with scope and binoculars from Ft. Armistead from roughly 9:30-
10:45 this morning.

Highlights:

DC Cormorant: More nests than I could count, scores of birds
Snowy Egret: 1 flyover
Great Egret: 4 flyover
BCN Heron: 3 adult, 2 subadult
Glossy Ibis: 1 flying toward my viewing locale, nice looks at it.
Osprey: 2 1 adult feeding 3 young on nest above Armistead pier
Herring Gull: scores on the island and in the air
G. Black backed Gull: Several also on the island and various docks

Also:

Laughing Gull: 1 Landed on the dock just east of Armistead. Interesting.
F. Crow
E. Kingbird
O. Oriole: pair

Best to all,

Matt Grey
