RFI: Raptor populations in DC region

A reporter from the Washington Times has contacted MOS wanting to know more
about (diurnal) raptors that are thriving in the D.C. region despite the
spreading development. Also, why are these species doing so well (e.g.,
human intervention, more pigeons, etc.)? I think we should also be prepared
to list the raptor species that are NOT adapting to the press of humanity,
and why.

I know that many of you can provide insightful input on this topic. Please
