I noticed this bird in the grass because an adult was coming down to feed it every couple minutes. I imagine that it came out of the nest some time within the past 24 hours. My mom said she heard it chipping early this morning but could not find it. She has found several young flopping around the yard in prior years. The adult bird was arriving with food every 3 to 4 minutes before, during, and after the time while I was taking pictures. It was very cool to witness this behavior. It was an everyday occurance last summer with Grasshopper Sparrows while working at Chino Farms.

Nice shot. With Photoshop you can take the piece of grass out of the image.

It looks like the young might still be in the nest. Is that correct. Not
  much in the feather department.
