At Jim Brighton's suggestion, I looked for shorebirds this afternoon along
Oxford Rd between Easton and Oxford in Talbot County. Several fields have
been cleared -- for future housing development I'm guessing -- creating
some decent habitat, at least temporarily.
The best spot was at the corner of Oxford Rd. and Llandaff Rd. Parking is
easier on Oxford Rd, but viewing was better on Llandaff Rd. Here I saw 1
Greater Yellowlegs, 4 Lesser Yellowlegs, 1 Solitary Sandpiper, 6 Pectoral
Sandpipers, and 2 distant peeps along with many Killdeer. Worth checking
out if you're in the area.
